African Women

Working The Fields brings together tribal art and high-quality contemporary art. The two figures of African women are stylized, plain, and lack any detailed ornamentation. Their faces have no eyes and no definite expression and this oversimplification alludes to the roots of tribal art, when African masks had hardly any features.
